Hot Lunch is a Los Angeles–born offshoot of Sample and Forth+Back studios, uniting industrial and graphic design to reimagine the small moments that shape our days. Rooted in the nostalgic forms, colors, and systems of our youth, each release is an experiment in form, function, and feeling — inviting pause, pleasure, and a sense of play through thoughtful design.

We blend multidisciplinary design with a playful spirit to create products that turn everyday rituals into something fun and memorable. Our process starts with shape, pulling from the object, colors, and shared nostalgia, layered into thoughtful form and function.

Every piece is crafted by hand as a small-batch experiment, using in-house rapid manufacturing to bring these ideas to life with precision and personality.

FAQ'S:

1. What size lighter does this hold?

Fits a standard BIC Mini (J5). Lighter not included.

Tip: Peel the sticker off the back of the BIC for the easiest fit.

2. What if my lighter doesn’t fit?

Try another BIC Mini first. Every sleeve is checked and fit tested before it ships. Sometimes small differences in BIC production can affect fit. If it still doesn’t work, contact us and we’ll sort out a reissue.

3. Does it work with other brands of mini lighters?

Made specifically for BIC Mini. Other brands aren’t guaranteed to fit because the dimensions vary.

4. What material are the sleeves made from?

Plant based PLA. It’s biodegradable and made from renewable sources like cornstarch, sugarcane, or cassava.

5. Where are the products made?

Designed and produced in house at our studio in Los Angeles. Small batch, made right here.

6. How long does domestic shipping take?

Orders ship twice a week via USPS Ground Advantage (unless you choose expedited). Most people get theirs in 3–5 business days after it ships.

7. Are sales final / what’s the return policy?

All sales are final. If something arrives broken or has a serious flaw, contact us and we’ll make it right.

8. Do you offer custom colors or designs?

Yes, for custom orders only. There’s a minimum order quantity. Reach out if you’re interested.
